In her new show, which debuted today, the duchess reminisces on her time as an actor in , and as a tastemaker with her lifestyle blog .
In episode one of the , Meghan remembers the past as she prepares single-skillet spaghetti with fresh tomatoes from her garden—a meal that she makes for her kids to take to school as their lunch—with longtime friend and celebrated makeup artist .
“Daniel was my beauty editor for The Tig,” Meghan says. She explains of her blog: “So, I started this lifestyle website. I was doing it between scenes in my trailer.”
Martin recalls how much extra work Meghan did for the blog, while also working full-time filming Suits, simply because she loved it.
Meghan remembers being “so excited at the time” and just “creating and figuring it out.” She says, earnestly: “It was all in the spirit of just sharing things that I loved.”
Meghan launched The Tig in 2014, but in 2017, as her relationship with Harry got more serious, she shut down the blog, and with it, her personal Instagram account, to commit to life as a royal. “Well, I loved The Tig, but I certainly love my husband more,” she told People in a new interview ahead of her show’s debut. “So that was a choice I made at the time, and I wouldn’t change that for a second.”
She added that returning to doing what she has always loved—now with by her side—feels very special. “My husband met me when I had The Tig, and I see this spark in his eye when he sees me doing the thing that I was doing when he first met me,” Meghan said.
