Charles County public schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025. While main roads in Charles County and our schools and buildings have been cleared well, back roads and neighborhood roads, as well as community walkways and sidewalks leading to some of our schools, have not fully been cleared as of 4 p.m. this afternoon. This would impact school bus and student walker traffic. There is a Code Two, which is a two-hour delay, for Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) staff who follow the code system. When schools are closed, there are no after-school or evening activities.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 8. There will be no instruction whatsoever for students. Tomorrow will not be a virtual instruction day. A Code Blue with liberal leave is in effect for employees. With the exception of Unit III personnel, 12-month employees who are unable to get to their work location because of hardships are encouraged to utilize annual leave and should notify their supervisor of their intent to do so or discuss other arrangements. Unit III personnel must report as required and will receive additional instructions to that effect.
