PABLO, Mont. – Salish Kootenai College has been named one of the winners of the U.S. Department of Education’s 2025 Postsecondary Success Recognition Program. This prestigious award highlights institutions that excel in supporting students to earn valuable and affordable credentials.
The program, in its first year, seeks to honor colleges that set a new standard in higher education by preparing students for the workforce, their communities, and participation in democracy. The Department of Education developed this recognition program with input from educational experts.
For the 2025 program, 200 institutions were initially eligible to apply, divided equally between bachelor’s-granting and associate or certificate-granting institutions.
A panel of 50 peer reviewers scored the applications, and the top 20 institutions advanced to a scored interview round conducted by a research firm. From this, the top six institutions were named winners.
Salish Kootenai College is among the winners in the predominantly associate degree or certificate-granting category, alongside Miami Dade College and CUNY Hostos Community College.
This recognition underscores Salish Kootenai College’s commitment to educational excellence and its dedication to supporting all students in achieving their academic and career goals.
