The Woodward Board of Education announced Tuesday a routine call for an annual election – specifically for board seat number 5.
Currently the seat is filled by Chad Mead.
The filing period will take place at the Woodward County Election Board between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 2 through 4, according to school officials.
Current board members include – Leah Barby for Ward 1. She is in her second term, Lance Semmel for Ward 3 on his first term, Chad Mead for Ward 5 and is in his third term, Tate Endersby for Ward 4 is in his fourth term and Benjamin J. Williams for Ward 2.
Those who are interested in serving on the board are statutorily required to obtain certain training within several months of when they are elected.
According to the Annual Election Resolution, a Board of Education primary election will be held on February 11, 2025 only if there are three or more candidates who file for the position. The general election will be held on April 1, 2025 if only two candidates file for the position or if no candidate in the Board of Education primary election receives more than 50% of the votes cast.
