(Willmar MN-) A new contract has been signed with Willmar School District teachers. Willmar School Board Chair Justin Bos says the school board approved the two-year pact, which goes to the end of next school year, at a special meeting last week…
…The last three rounds of negotiations with teachers was done through “interest based bargaining” which involves the use of a state mediator. Bos says this time around, they went without the mediator but still had a very collaborative process. He says the teachers have recieved retro pay for this school year up to this point, just in time for holiday shopping, and since it was before January 1st, money won’t be taken out for the new state Paid Family Leave program that is going into effect next year. And Willmar Schools Superintendent Dr. Bill Adams says the school board has approved a calendar for next school year that will begin classes before Labor Day…
…Labor Day 2026 will fall on September 7th.
