Dhurandhar actor Akshaye Khanna recently opened up about his lifestyle, including his diet, which he has been following for many years. “For as long as I can remember, even today, I never eat breakfast. I go straight from lunch to dinner, and even between lunch and dinner, I don’t eat anything at all, not even a sandwich or a biscuit. In the evening, I just have a cup of tea, that’s it,” Khanna said in Hindi.
Adding that he mostly eats dal-chawal with a sabzi or curry and chicken or fish for lunch, he continued, “I eat roti at night with a sabzi and chicken dish. Mostly, this is what I eat.” His favourite vegetable, he said, is bhindi, and his favourite fruit is litchi, further stating that his diet is the “same as when I am not shooting”.
Discussing his sleep schedule, he told Bollywood Hungama he sleeps “about 10 hours a day.”

While skipping breakfast is often debated, what matters most is context. “For some individuals, especially those who eat balanced meals later in the day and maintain stable energy levels, missing breakfast does not necessarily disrupt health. What is important is total daily nutrition, metabolic response and how the body feels and performs. Akshaye Khanna’s routine suggests that his eating pattern works in alignment with his natural appetite and lifestyle rather than following conventional rules,” said consultant dietitian Garima Goyal.
What truly stands out is his emphasis on sleep. Ten hours of sleep may sound excessive to many, but “quality and duration of sleep play a critical role in hormonal balance, appetite regulation and long-term health.” “Adequate sleep supports recovery, mental clarity and metabolic efficiency, often doing more for overall wellbeing than dietary tweaks alone,” said Goyal.
Khanna’s lifestyle highlights an important takeaway. “Health does not follow a single template. Sustainable routines respect individual biology, daily rhythms, and long-term consistency. Sometimes, doing less but doing it right is what truly supports balance and longevity,” shared Goyal.
