LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Creole Culture Day is back for its 23rd year at Vermilionville, packed with music, food, and stories that highlight the vibrant Creole heritage.
All of the fun is happening on Sunday, June 8, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
“It’s our yearly party for all things Creole, celebrating everything that makes our lifestyle great,” Ellen Fucich from Vermilionville noted.
The free event is thanks to a partnership with Creole Inc. You’ll catch Herb Green’s percussion group, Caleb Ledet and The Zydeco Prodigies, and Chubby Carrier rocking the stage.
Plus, the New Orleans Zydeco Foundation will be there, and Drake LeBlanc, a filmmaker and big supporter of Creole culture, will get the Catalan Creole Heritage Award.
