The Cape Fear Cultural Association of India will be hosting its second annual India Day in Wilmington. The day is a celebration of Indian culture, art and heritage.

What is the Cape Fear Cultural Association of India?
The Cape Fear Cultural Association of India has been an essential part of the local Indian community in and around Wilmington for more than 20 years. There is approximately 80 families (about 250 individuals) as members. The majority of the membership is first or second generation Indian.
When is India Day?
India Day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m at the Harrelson Center, 420 N. Fourth St., downtown Wilmington. The event is open to the public with free admission.
Events
- Food ― There will be an array of regional mouthwatering Indian cuisine as well as beverages like masala chai or a mango lassi to quench your thirst.
- Entertainment will be held throughout the day with music, professional Indian dancers performing classical dances, and the Bollywood dances.
- Activities will center around India’s culture and heritage. This includes Henna painting, Rangoli (art with colored powder) making and learning the secrets of Indian spices and Indian food preparations, Indian history, literature and more.
- Brightly colored Indian attire and jewelry will be available for purchase.
Parking
There will be a limited amount of free parking spots at the venue, otherwise visitors must pay for other parking spots.
