The Wayne County Board of Education conducted its regular meeting on Thursday, April 17th, 2025. During the meeting, Mr. Dishman and the school board proudly recognized the outstanding achievements of students from the Future Farmers of America (FFA). The meeting featured representatives from Gear-Up, who provided an insightful update on their programs designed to support student growth and achievement. Additionally, Derek Phillips delivered a presentation on the Walker Early Learning Project (BG-21328). He proposed enhancements to the project, including the addition of a gym and elevator to ensure ADA accessibility. Following a productive discussion, the board approved Codell Construction for the Walker Early Learning Project.
Other Discussions and Approvals

- The board discussed the BG 1 Project concerning the Davis Heirs Land Acquisition, but no action was taken.

- The 2025-2026 technology plan.
- An amended 2024-2025 school calendar, setting the end date for students as May 22nd.
- Advance KY Access to Algebra for Wayne County Middle School.
- Renewal of the Continuation of Learning (NTI Non-Traditional) program for the 2025-2026 school year.
- An insurance contract with Roberts Insurance for Student Accident Insurance, maintaining the current rate.
- The Community Eligibility Provision for the Lunch Program for the 2025-2026 school year, along with the summer food service program pay scale, and the indirect school lunch cost rate.
