Thousands of UW-Stout students got the opportunity to network with hundreds of businesses across the nation.
MENOMONIE (WQOW) – Thousands of UW-Stout students got the opportunity to network with hundreds of businesses across the nation.
This week the college hosted a four-day career conference. Over 360 companies were in attendance. Those industries ranged from health care, to business, to engineering, and more.
Stout’s career services director, Bryan Barts, said having this many present allows an easy way for students to make connections. This helps set them up for success to get their first internship or job.
“Many of our companies here have locations in Wisconsin, but also regionally and nationwide,” said Barts. “So, we are really giving an opportunity to showcase what Wisconsin and Wisconsin’s polytechnic education can do and impact our society and community.”
He adds the conference allows students to see the value in their classes and a pathway to their career.
This is the first career conference of the school year. Another will be held in February 2025.
