



UPDATE: 4:01 p.m., Wednesday:
Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Fire Chief Frank Farry said firefighters responded to Maple Point Middle School at 11:13 a.m. for a report of a gas leak.
The school administration began evacuating students and staff right away, the chief said.
No students or staff were hurt or sickened.
The Neshaminy School District said they moved the students to neighboring Core Creek Elementary School and then demised them around 12:45 p.m.
Farry said a minor gas leak was found in a boiler room and was secured by PECO.
Firefighters checked the school to make sure everyone has evacuated safely.
In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, Newtown Fire Rescue, Parkland Fire Company, Penndel Fire Company, Middletown Department of Fire and Emergency Services, William Penn Fire Company, Yardley-Makefield Fire Company, Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, and Middletown Township police responded.

A Neshaminy School District building dismissed early Wednesday due to a reported “utility emergency.”
Maple Point Middle School in Middletown Township let students out early in the afternoon due to a report of a possible gas odor.
Firefighters, police, and PECO crews responded to the school, and students were evacuated from the building, which also houses the district administration.
The district said “all students and staff are safe.”
The district said authorities declared the building safe.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we will be ending the school day for Maple Point students early today. The students and staff are currently at Core Creek Elementary School but the emergency responders approved allowing them to return to Maple Point to retrieve their personal belongings before we dismiss,” a Neshaminy statement said.
Students in neighbor Core Creek Elementary School will continue their day normally.
