On September 10, at 6 PM, the event “Promoting Mental Health and Preventing Risk Behaviors in University: An Imperative for 21st Century Youth” will be held as part of the 9th edition of Yellow September – For the Valuation of Life. The initiative seeks to expand the discussion on mental health in the academic context, focusing on preventing disorders and strengthening institutional strategies for support.
Recent data show that depression is already the most disabling disease in the world, and Brazil ranks first in Latin America in terms of the prevalence of anxiety disorders. In the country, suicide and self-harm rates have been rising, especially among young people, which underscores the importance of schools and universities in creating environments of care and prevention.
The speaker will be Carlos Aragão Neto, Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Culture (UnB), moderated by Tatiane Santos, coordinator of the Pedagogical Support Center (FGV NAP).
