23rd June 2025 – (Hong Kong) Two Form Four students at Queen’s College, one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious schools, were caught cheating during a Citizenship and Social Development examination last week, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The incident reportedly involved one student deliberately raising their exam paper to allow another, seated behind them, to lean forward and copy answers. The act was spotted by an invigilating teacher, who immediately intervened. Following a review of surveillance footage, the school confirmed the misconduct and identified both students.
Both students have received at least a minor demerit as punishment. Notably, one of the individuals involved is a leader of a student organisation, previously reprimanded for refusing to wear school uniform trousers.
This cheating episode follows another controversy in May when several Form Two students at the school were found collectively cheating during a Chinese History test. In that case, the school invalidated the test scores for the entire class but opted not to re-administer the test. Instead, the year-end exam results for the subject would account for 100% of the final grade for the affected class.
