Karly Warner cheer BR Faces of Winter at the NG office in Champaign on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025
On Wednesdays, we’ll introduce the students who make up Year 10 of High School Confidential, powered by Danville Area Community College. Today: Blue Ridge’s Karly Warner.
The overhaul of Kenneth Rittenhouse Memorial Field fits Karly to a T: The athletic complex is where she cheers for football, plays in the band and runs track.
The impressive renovations, which were completed in October, “have made a big difference at Blue Ridge,” she said. “It allows for more school spirit and support from the community.”
Karly enjoys everything about Farmer City — “our small-but-mighty town”— especially the annual Christmas parade, “a great example of how we all come together for the holiday season,” she said.
Being voted homecoming queen was a thrill for Karly. Having her boyfriend of six years, Devin Wrestler, as king made it even better. “Homecoming is a very big deal in Farmer City, so I was honored,” she said. “I always imagined getting to do something like this together, so it was a nice happily-ever-after moment.”
Still to come before college: cheering for basketball, traveling to Florida with the band and prom. She’ll also continue to report on all things Knights for us through April
“The best part about being Blue Ridge’s reporter is the positivity that it brings,” she said. “Each week, I spend time finding good news from our district and I get to spread it. I like surprising students from my school by highlighting them in the paper.”
