BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Getting and staying healthy can be difficult, so Cycle Station co-owner Jon Childers is sharing his tips and tricks for maintaining a good lifestyle.
Childers recommends starting small, healthier decisions like walking a little more or replacing cravings for junk food with fruits and vegetables can add up over time. Meal prepping at the beginning of the week can make it easier to reach for better options.
Before going to the gym, Childers said he makes a list of what he wants to accomplish during that time which makes it easier to stay on task and complete physical goals. When in the gym, he said adding higher weights into the workout incrementally even as little as five pounds can add up to large gains over time.
He also wants to emphasize the importance of starting the day with water.
“Before you have that coffee in the morning, what’s so important is to have that glass of water. I think we as humans are guilty of, I wake up, I need my coffee,” Childers said. “If we’re not careful, we’re at 3 and 4 cups by noon and never having any water.”
