Classes at Virginia City High School were canceled Wednesday, Jan. 21 as authorities investigated a threat specific to the school, according to the Storey County School District.
All other schools in the district operated on a two-hour delay while the investigation continued.
District officials said they were working closely with the Storey County Sheriff’s Office after learning of the threat. Out of an abundance of caution, administrators initially delayed the start of the school day districtwide before later canceling classes at Virginia City High School.
Families were encouraged to monitor official district communications for the latest details.
