ELYRIA, Ohio — Lorain County’s future workforce will get a first-hand look at career opportunities this fall as the 2025 Career Pathways Expo returns to the Lorain County Fairgrounds’ Ross Center Oct. 21 and 22.
The two-day event is designed to introduce local students from all 15 public school districts in Lorain County to real-world careers and employers. More than 3,000 students are expected to attend, according to a news release.
Lorain County Commissioners are encouraging local businesses to get involved by hosting interactive exhibits or demonstrations that showcase the skills and opportunities within their industries.
“This event is a powerful way for businesses to take an active role in workforce development. Your presence could spark a student’s future career path and help build the future talent pool our county needs,” Lorain County Commissioner Marty Gallagher said in the release.
Students will have the chance to rotate through different stations and take part in a “Career Quest” bingo-style game while exploring careers in fields such as manufacturing, healthcare, skilled trades, information technology, public service and education. Middle school students will attend on Oct. 21, while high school students will participate on Oct. 22. Both days run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the release.

The Career Pathways Expo is organized by the Lorain County Business Advisory Council, which works to connect schools, employers and community partners to prepare students for life after graduation, according to the release.
