Joey Aguilar and the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers are 6-2 with an upcoming matchup against the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners. Their only losses so far come from the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide.
Aguilar, in his first season with Tennessee, has performed well. He’s appeared in all eight games, completing 166-of-252 passes for 2,344 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s also rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on 37 carries.

The Volunteers are in a position to compete for an SEC title and make the College Football Playoff for the second straight year. Much of that has to do with Aguilar’s production on the field.

His and the team’s success have made the quarterback a fan favorite. That popularity and playing for such a large program have led to several unique opportunities.
In an Instagram post, Aguilar announced a new NIL partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods and Crocs, promoting the shoe brand’s “Dark Mode” product.

“Turning Dark Mode → Sport Mode with @crocs ! Shop your pair at Dick’s Sporting Goods for our game this Saturday night! @dickssportinggoods @dickshouseofsport #dkspartner #darkmode #CrocsPartner @crocs @dickssportinggoods,” Aguilar wrote.
The timing of this deal is no coincidence, as it comes the same week Tennessee is set to wear their all black uniforms against Oklahoma.
Aguilar continues to take advantage of these opportunities. On3 gives him an NIL valuation of $1.2 million, which is the 49th highest in college football.

Dick’s Sporting Goods and Crocs aren’t the only major companies he’s partnered with. Earlier this season, Aguilar announced a deal with Powerade as well.
Winning only builds his personal brand, and Oklahoma is set to be an exciting matchup. Aguilar is leading his offense against a Sooners defense, which ranks first in the SEC in points per game allowed (12.5).
Kickoff is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium, airing on ABC.
