Temple Community Clinic will launch its 2025 “Living Well in Bell” health education series this week.
The community event is at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Community Clinic, 1508 W. Ave. J in Temple.
“We know that health literacy is key to preventing disease,” said Sherri Woytek, Temple Community Clinic spokesperson. “We are excited to work with Altrusa International, Living Well Aware and Walmart to discuss important topics impacting residents living in Bell County.”
Regular classes are scheduled on the third Thursday of each month going forward. The health education series is free and open to the public.
According to Woytek, the health education series began in January 2020. The series took a hiatus a few months later because of the COVID-19 epidemic, but resumed once social distancing guidelines were lifted.
Woytek elaborated about the theme of this health series.
“Our clinic is a community-born project that has been supported by donors from Bell County,” she said. “Therefore, we felt it was important that we recognize that we want to provide education on how to live well and build a healthier community well beyond our patient population.”
Woytek also spoke on what attendees can expect from these classes.
“Attendees can expect to receive valuable information on important topics impacting their health and well-being and learning how the live a healthy lifestyle mentally, spiritually and financially,” Woytek said.
Attendees will have opportunities to meet community partners who support local health and wellness initiatives. They also will receive clinic tours, giveaways and resources to help jumpstart their journey to better health.
