Montoursville, Pa. — A 17-year-old boy has been temporarily removed from school after he posted a vaguely-threatening message on a bulletin board, officials say.
The printed sheet, posted on a bulletin board in Montoursville Area High School, was spotted by staff and students Wednesday morning, according to Superintendent Daniel Taormina. The sheet contained eight names, not all of which were students, and addresses.
It also included this text: “A list of Nazi meeting grounds and conspirators in the Montoursville community that wish death to America and suffering to its peoples. Destroy the buildings and kill the threats at all costs.”
The sheet appeared the day after Election Day and Taormina said the teen boy appeared to be upset about the results. At no point were students in danger, he noted.
“It was really a non-event,” Taormina said. “It wasted so much time.”
The district did contact law enforcement and the incident was taken “as seriously as it should, but nobody was in harm’s way,” he added.
Charges are likely pending for the teen and the district is “still working” on deciding the appropriate punishment for the student, Taormina said.
