Sand sculptures at festival
The Qingzhouwan Village Festival is to open on Friday and run until the Lantern Festival on Feb. 12, the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Headquarters said yesterday. The festival is to take place at Dapeng’s Cingjhou Bay (青洲灣) and showcase 10 sand sculptures, which were unveiled yesterday, it said. To welcome the Year of the Snake, which begins on Jan. 29, the festival is to include a sand sculpture of a golden snake, it said. This year’s sand sculptures integrate traditional and modern art, showcasing the unique charm of eastern mythical creatures that bring good fortune, it added. The festival is a chance for people to experience Taiwan’s most impressive sand sculpture exhibition in celebration of the Spring Festival, it said. Accusefive (五告人) is to headline a concert at the festival on Jan. 25, it said. For more information, visit the National Scenic Area Headquarters Web site at pingtung-2025.ace86.com.
