SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) –Sparta High School brought community professionals into the classroom to help students prepare for their next steps after graduation, whether that leads to college or directly into the workforce.
Community members shared their career experiences with students, explaining the skills needed for success and the challenges they encountered along their professional journeys.
Cole Bawek, vice president of public relations at Ashley Furniture, was among the professionals who participated in the program. He emphasized the importance of preparing students for real-world expectations.
“Whether you want to go on to college or right into the workforce, talk about some of the lessons you learned and challenges you faced to give the students what they should expect and prepare for as they prepare for the next step,” Bawek said.
The program allowed students to choose between five different professionals based on their individual interests and career aspirations. This personalized approach enabled students to receive targeted advice relevant to their potential career paths.
