New cleaning equipment purchased by Green Local Schools Board
GREEN — The Green Local Schools Board of Education authorized the purchase of cleaning equipment for the new Green Elementary and Green Middle Schools at the Dec. 16 meeting.
The equipment will be purchased from Damon Industries for $67,993 and will be paid from the Building Fund.
Superintendent Jeffrey Miller said the district’s director of operations met with other districts that have similar floor coverings as the new buildings will have to purchase additional equipment such as special vacuums.
“We are being proactive and ordering the equipment that we need for the new buildings now so that we can get our people trained to use the equipment and we are ready for the new buildings when they open,” Miller said.
In other actions, the board approved a list of athletic contracts, including a head coach for baseball; head coach for the girls and boys lacrosse teams; head coaches for girls and boys track; and a boys head tennis coach.
The Green Local Schools board will next meet Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m. for the organizational meeting with the regular meeting immediately following, in Council Chambers at the Central Administration Building, 1755 Town Park Blvd. The meeting may be viewed through a link on the board’s page at greenlocalschools.org.
