In the latter half of the season, Cunningham suffered a season-ending knee injury.
As she gets back into basketball form, having been forced to watch the Fever’s playoff run on the sideline, Sophie Cunningham announced that she has joined Project B.
“I’m, excited to announce that I’m actually joining Project B’s athlete roster,” Cunningham said. “I’m so thrilled for it… Come with us on this journey.”
Project B is a new global women’s basketball league founded by former tech executives. Plans for the new league include its inaugural season in 2026, with the tip-off set to begin in November of next year, following the WNBA season.
