The Senior Resource Center will host the Senior Lifestyle Expo on Oct. 23. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Freeport Eagles Club, 1200 W. Galena Ave., Freeport.
The expo aims to connect older adults, caregivers and families with resources to support healthy and independent living, according to a community announcement.
More than 50 organizations will be present to provide information and answer questions on topics such as Medicare coverage, assisted and independent living, health insurance, financial planning, home care, hospice care, medical equipment, mobility solutions, aging-in-place home improvements, physical therapy, long-term care, travel, recreation, education opportunities, free meals and community programs.
Attendees can also benefit from free health screenings, including vision, hearing, glucose, cholesterol and balance checks. Free flu shots will be available for those with an insurance card. Various giveaways will be offered throughout the morning.
