The Aplomb Project announces grand opening gala at new Dover gallery
DOVER — The Aplomb Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting trauma survivors through art, announced the Grand Opening Gala of its new gallery and creative healing space in downtown Dover. The event will take place on Saturday, June 21, at 6 p.m., at 262 Central Avenue.
The evening will feature the unveiling of six new portraits from the 2025 Portrait Project, each accompanied by curated poetry that highlights resilience. Guests will enjoy catering by Wing Itz, a cash bar, and a live acoustic performance by North River Music. This celebration marks a significant milestone for The Aplomb Project as it expands its mission to use the transformative power of art to promote healing and present inclusive artistic opportunities.
This gala also holds deep personal meaning for Aplomb Project founder Danielle Festa, who has spent the past year undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Her experience has only deepened her understanding of vulnerability, strength, and the importance of creative support systems. “Art has always been a lifeline for me,” says Festa. “This past year reminded me how vital community, expression, and visibility are in the healing process—not just for me, but for every survivor who walks through our doors.”
Reflecting on the impact of The Aplomb Project, participant Lissa shared: “Danielle, your superpower is bringing this population of survivors into the light. I just want to thank you for showing our strength, showing our importance, showing that we are valued.”
Tickets are available at theaplombproject.org/gala.
