Pontine Theatre presents ‘The Beginner’s Guide to Cemetery Sleuthing’
PORTSMOUTH — Pontine Theatre will present Erin E. Moulton’s program “The Beginners Guide to Cemetery Sleuthing” at their venue, the 1845 Plains Schoolhouse, #1 Plains Avenue, Portsmouth, on Thursday, May 29, at 2 p.m. The space is fully accessible and free parking is available onsite. Artists’ Talk at Haley Art Gallery
KITTERY, Maine – Haley Art Gallery will host an Artists’ Talk by three of the artists whose works are part of the current exhibit Unstoppable Human Spirit. Paul Burke, Margareta Claesson, and Lisa Lane will discuss their artistic styles, works on exhibit, and their inspiration sources on Saturday, May 17, 1-3 p.m.

Seacoast Community Chorus presents ‘The French Connection‘

Archer Glass offers stained-glass demonstration, showcase, and artist talk
DOVER — On Saturday, May 17, at 1 p.m., SEH Studios Art Gallery presents Archer Glass, the artistic venture led by self-taught stained-glass and mosaic artist, Jennifer Crete. This special event invites the community to experience the mesmerizing craft of stained-glass through live demonstrations, an insightful artist talk, and a stunning offering of Crete’s handcrafted works.
Since 2007, Crete has been refining her glasswork, first exploring mosaics before mastering the Tiffany Technique of stained-glass in 2020. Halley Neal and Harrison Goodell named Grand Prize Winners of The Music Hall’s 2025 Emerging Artist Grant
PORTSMOUTH – The Music Hall announced the winners of its 2025 Emerging Artist Grant Program, an initiative created to spotlight and support rising contemporary musicians with both financial assistance and high-profile performance opportunities. This year’s Grand Prize Winners—Halley Neal and Harrison Goodell—will open for Grammy-winning artist Sara Bareilles during the sold-out Emerging Artist Benefit Concert on Sunday, May 11 at The Music Hall’s Historic Theater.
Before the main event, the public is invited to a free Chestnut Street Party from 5-7 p.m., featuring performances by three additional grant winners: Skye Darling, Preston Lydotes, and Abby Scharff.
Now in its second year, the Emerging Artist Grant Program continues The Music Hall’s mission to champion early-career talent. This year, two Grand Prize winners were awarded $5,000 each and three runners-up received $2,500 awards to support their professional development in the music industry. Albacore Park opens new galleries, honors service members
PORTSMOUTH — Albacore Park has a range of events planned for Memorial Day weekend. The submarine off the Route One Bypass in Portsmouth, has expanded its visitor center and will be opening the new gallery space with a ribbon cutting on Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. On Monday, May 26 Albacore Park will host the Portsmouth Navy Shipyard’s Memorial Day ceremony to honor those who gave their lives while serving in the US Military.
Albacore Park’s new gallery space will enable a wider story of the region’s maritime history along with more information on submarines, and the Albacore specifically. While exhibits are still in the early phases, the ribbon cutting will be an excellent opportunity to view the new space, and some artifacts that have not been on display before. The gallery opening is just one of the Memorial Day weekend activities taking place at Albacore Park. All weekend long visitors can buy raffle tickets for a basket of local goodies worth over $500. On Saturday visitors can take part in focus groups to assist in the maritime gallery planning process.
The weekend’s special events conclude on Monday with the memorial ceremony to honor those who gave their lives while serving in the US military. The ceremony starts at 10 a.m. and will include music, wreath laying, bell ringing, and words of commemoration from both Shipyard and Albacore personages.
