DOVER — The Art Center presents Compelling Visions, a solo exhibition featuring the remarkable works of celebrated artist Roland Salazar Rose. This unique showcase highlights paintings from his prolific México years, with select pieces from his Maine collection. A member of The Art Center and a longtime artist at The Barn Gallery, Salazar’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries across the United States and México. Free week-long festival brings International Cinema to the Seacoast
DURHAM — The prestigious Cinema Ritrovato on Tour in NH film festival is making its way back to New Hampshire this spring for the seventh year, offering local audiences the chance to experience a curated selection of 21 classic and restored films from around the world. Presented by the University of New Hampshire Italian Studies Program in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna, this beloved event celebrates the rich history of cinema by showcasing newly restored masterpieces, lost gems, and rare cinematic treasures. This year’s festival features films from Italy, Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Iran, Japan, Senegal, Syria, Ukraine, UK, and the US.
From March 31 to April 6, Il Cinema Ritrovato on Tour in NH will take place at UNH’s Durham campus, offering a week-long series of screenings that highlight the beauty and artistry of films that have been carefully restored by respected film archives. The festival’s offerings include works from iconic directors, vibrant restorations, and films that spandifferent countries, genres, and decades. Each screening is also an opportunity to rediscover the magic of the collective movie-going experience.
In addition to the screenings, Il Cinema Ritrovato on Tour in NH will offer insightful introductions, discussions, and presentations from experts from a variety of disciplines including Cinema Studies, Italian Studies, Anthropology, Political Science, and History.

‘Hands and Heart: Pottery art talk with Dover’s Anne Foley‘
DOVER – SEH Studios Art Gallery announced an engaging Art Talk by Dover potter, Anne Foley, on Saturday, April 12, at 4 p.m. This free event will take place at SEH Studios Art Gallery, located at 456 Central Ave., Dover.
Foley will chat with visitors and discuss her artistic journey, creative process, and current projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to view samples of Anne’s favorite pieces and purchase from a nice selection of her works.
SEH Studios features the works of regional artists, enhancing the community’s cultural landscape. Local Seacoast writer’s new musical theatre production premieres in Boston this April
DOVER — Dover, New Hampshire writer, Justin X. M. Corriss will see his new musical theatre production, Skazki: A Spell of Ice and Snow premiere at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts on April 11.
The play is a reimagining of Russian folklore with thoughtful new interpretations of classic characters like Baba Yaga and Morozko, the Lord of Winter. The story involves a young peasant girl, Katya, who ventures into the depths of the Russian taiga in search of medicine and magic to help her ailing family. Along the way she is helped by Ivan, a cursed soldier with no memory, wandering his way through the world.
Corriss, a local sommelier, has written novels, poems, and short stories, and it was one of those novels that was the inspiration for Skazki, his first theatrical script. Corriss developed the play last Summer during Dive In Productions Dive-Incubator Workshop, and a short, non-musical version of the production was staged at New Hampshire Theatre Project as part of Dive In’s New Works Festival.

Amare Cantare presents spring concerts
DURHAM — The Seacoast’s vocal chamber chorus, Amare Cantare, will perform its spring concerts on Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Church, 43 Pine Street, Exeter; Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m. at Oyster River Middle School, 1 Coe Drive, Durham; and on Wednesday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Middle Street Baptist Church, 18 Court St., Portsmouth.
The spring program features musical gems from the Baroque period, the centerpiece of which is Johann Sebastian Bach’s longest motet, Jesu Meine Freude, performed with instrumental accompaniment.A compact eleven-movement composition, the piece exhibits Bach’s genius for creating brilliant structures that support textual meaning and pure aesthetic beauty.
The concert also includes several vocal duets from Symphonie Sacrae II by Heinrich Schütz accompanied by two violins and continuo, a set of madrigals and part songs; and a special performance of La Primavera (Spring) from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi performed by the guest instrumentalists.

Homes and Hearth guided tours at Strawbery Banke
PORTSMOUTH — Strawbery Banke Museum invites visitors to step into history with its Homes and Hearth Guided Tours, offered on April 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20. This 90-minute guided tour takes guests inside four historic homes, where generations of Portsmouth residents gathered and grew together over centuries.
