‘The Ghost Train’ at Garrison Players Arts Center

Six passengers find themselves stranded late at night in the waiting-room of an isolated Cornish railway station. Ignoring the ghostly tales and dire warnings of the stationmaster, they decide to stay where they are until morning—with terrifying consequences.

Pappas announces 2025 Congressional Art Competition
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced the upcoming deadline for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District.
Each spring, Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, in collaboration with the Congressional Institute, sponsor a nationwide high school arts competition. The competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the nation, as well as in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District.
Congressman Pappas welcomes participation from high school students who reside in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District. The district’s winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, as part of an exhibit with winners from around the country. The winner will also be featured on the House Congressional Art Competition webpage. Second place artwork will be displayed in Congressman Pappas’s D.C. office in the Cannon Building, and third place will be displayed in the Manchester district office.

Continuum Arts Collective accepting art submissions
NORTH BERWICK, Maine — Having served over 6,000 student artists and musicians throughout Maine and New Hampshire since its founding in 2015, Continuum Arts Collective is accepting art submissions for its 2025 Student Art Contest. Held annually, the contest invites K-12 students in Maine and New Hampshire to create a design for a t-shirt, hoodie, or other apparel that includes the words, Continuum Arts Collective, without including the organization’s logo.
Submissions will be split into two age categories, 5-12 and 13-18, with the winners awarded a $500 gift card to either Michael’s or Blick Arts. The winning designs will be printed on a t-shirt and sold at CAC’s Revel in the Meadow event in North Berwick on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, and shared on social media and other marketing platforms.
For students interested in participating in the 2025 Student Art Contest, CAC will accept submissions with three colors (or less) created with pen and ink, pencil, marker, opaque watercolor, acrylic or oil paint, or cut paper collage. Students may submit up to three designs, and all submissions must be the student’s original work.
