GAO’s Science, Technology Assessment, and Analytics team helps Congress by assessing emerging technologies. We also provide options for policymakers who want to respond to the challenges and opportunities these new advances present. Additionally, we report to Congress on critical federal agency actions related to science and technology, including preventing inappropriate foreign influence on U.S. research, maintaining the science and tech workforce, and ensuring responsible spending on major science projects.
