A Rangers Women starlet has inspired Glasgow pupils to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Mia McAulay, who recently received her first senior international call-up, visited Pollokshields Primary School as part of the Rangers Charity Foundation’s ‘Joy of Moving’ project, in partnership with the SPFL Trust.
The young footballer answered questions about her career and discussed the importance of fitness and diet.
She said: “It’s been fun to be able to come down here today and talk to the pupils about being healthy.

“The pupils asked great questions, and it was fun to talk to them too.
“Hopefully they remember a few tips to take with them as they grow up.
“I’m still young and still remember school well so hopefully I can help to inspire even a few of the pupils that I met today.”
The ‘Joy of Moving’ programme works with pupils aged nine to 10 years in schools across Glasgow to encourage physical activity and promote a healthy diet.
Pupils have been learning about nutrition and taking part in football sessions with Rangers Charity Foundation community coaches for six weeks.
They impressed McAulay with their knowledge and skills.
Jordan Boyd, community programmes manager at Rangers Charity Foundation, said: “It’s been great to have Mia down at Pollokshields Primary School today to help the pupils understand the importance of living a healthy life.
“Mia is a young player who has put in the hard work to make it as a professional so she’s a great role model for the kids.
“Joy of Moving is now in its tenth year, and we are proud to have delivered this programme to over 1,800 children across Glasgow last season alone.
“We want to help create healthier communities for the future, and we believe projects like this really work in achieving that.”
