Poinciana Health Fair, a Senior Wellness event, will be held on Friday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.). Osceola Commissioner Brandon Arrington will hold a Fall Food Distribution on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (3880 Pleasant Hill Road) in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Meal packages will be distributed to the first 600 families. One package per car, first come, first served, while supplies last.
The Association of Poinciana Village’s (APV) 9th Annual Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 6-9 p.m. at the Poinciana Activity Campus (445 Marigold Ave.). This community tradition is free for attendees, family friendly and the perfect way for children to celebrate Halloween in a safe and exciting environment. A spinetingling haunted house haunted hotel (entry fee is $2). There will be fun photo opportunities throughout the event.
Each year, APV residents and community partners transform their vehicle trunks into imaginative Halloween displays filled with treats for the kids. Last year more than 1,500 children participated.
At Osceola County’s recent State of Osceola County event, a video was presented concerning traffic initiatives including the Southern Connector connecting Poinciana to the Turnpike and the Poinciana Parkway extension. The new AdventHealth Poinciana ER on Pleasant Hill Road just north of Liberty High School is now up and running. The new 15,000 square foot facility features 16 patient beds, respiratory therapy services, diagnostic imaging including x-ray, on-site laboratory for rapid results and on-site pharmacy. Another healthcare option closer to home.
