Outlander may be ending soon, but Sam Heughan is keeping busy with a new project.
While fans of the Starz drama are preparing to say goodbye after eight seasons next year, Sam has been making some big career moves.
On September 29, Sam revealed he opened his own distillery in his hometown of Galloway, Scotland. Aptly called the Galloway Distillery, Sam’s new venture will see him creating, brewing, and selling the Sassenach Spirits line, along with other brands.
“@gallowaydistillery is now OPEN!!!” he captioned his post. “Thrilled to finally announce this homecoming, the @sassenachspirits has come home to Scotland. Galloway has so much to offer, come and see for yourself! 💚🏴Slainte!x.”
As soon as fans saw news about Sam’s latest venture, they voiced their excitement online.
“Amazing!! Congratulations Sam 👏👏 So happy for you 🥃♥️,” another exclaimed. “Cheers!!! 🥂 this is so fantastic ❤️❤️❤️,” a different follower.
Now, what was the inspiration behind Sam creating his own distillery? As he shared in a statement on Galloway Distillery’s official website, he’s all about wanting to give fans their own personal taste of Scotland.
“I created the Galloway distillery to champion and celebrate the unique terroir and history of this beautiful corner of Scotland,” he said. “A homecoming and new chapter, in the pursuit of fine spirit.”
And let’s not forget—the Galloway Distillery isn’t the only thing Sam has been working on as of late. The actor also released a cocktail book (titled The Cocktail Diaries: A Spirited Adventure) on September 23/
