SAN ANTONIO- NPower is offering crucial support to veterans and adults transitioning into civilian careers through its Fundamentals IT Training Program. The initiative, which is open to all adults, aims to help participants find meaningful employment by providing them with essential skills and opportunities to connect with local employers.
On October 30, NPower facilitated mock, fast-paced interview sessions with employers such as the City of San Antonio, Southwest Research Institute, Victory Capital, VIA Metro Transit, and USAA. These sessions are designed to help participants practice, gain confidence, and refine their professional presence.
Merianada Soriano from NPower San Antonio emphasized the importance of these skills for veterans transitioning from military to civilian life. “Transitioning from military into civilian we really ensure that they have those skills and that’s important for them to just practice, for them to be able to connect here with different volunteers and employer partners in order to really perfect those skills,” she said.
NPower student Dawud Dukes shared his experience, stating, “Helping you find opportunities, training you on how to build up your resume, how to talk better, how to basically make yourself more marketable and I think that really helped me make myself a better candidate.”
