The Norfolk Public Schools Board of Education is searching for a new superintendent and is accepting applications through Jan. 4.
At Monday night’s board meeting, chairwoman Brenda Carhart suggested, and the rest of the board agreed, to meet in executive session between 3 and 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12 to review applications ahead of the regular meeting at 5:30,
Board member Steve McNally suggested they could add an agenda item for the executive session to continue, if necessary, at the end of the regular meeting.
Carhart said, “But at the end of that meeting, we would have our people picked out that we want to interview and then we do the interview later.”
Carhart said the interviews will be scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The board will then meet at 9 o’clock the next morning, Wednesday, Jan. 21, to make its decision.
