Nick Saban, the legendary college football coach and seven-time national champion, continues to make headlines even after retiring from the game. Best known for building a dynasty with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Saban also spent years coaching the LSU Tigers and Michigan State Spartans. While his coaching career may be over, his drive for success clearly isn’t.
A few days ago, Saban made a new move, this time into hockey. The former Alabama coach, alongside longtime business partner Joe Agresti, purchased a minority stake in the NHL’s Nashville Predators through Dream Sports Ventures LLC.

Franchise Chairman Bill Haslam, who owns the team’s majority share, welcomed the duo, saying, “Coach is one of the all-time greats in college football history. We are excited to have him join us in our pursuit of championships on the ice in Nashville.”
Saban and Agresti already co-own Dream Motor Group, a luxury car dealership network with 10 locations, including two in Nashville. Their partnership continues to expand, showing Saban’s competitive spirit is alive well beyond football.

Just days after the news of his NHL purchase, Saban’s daughter, Kristen Saban, took to Instagram to celebrate her parents’ 54th wedding anniversary. “54 years of love, commitment, and being truly blessed🤍 Happy Anniversary to the two who shows us what forever looks like,” Kristen wrote.
Nick and Terry Saban, who married on Dec. 18, 1971, adopted their children, Nicholas and Kristen, early in their marriage and built a family rooted in faith, philanthropy and football. “Miss Terry” came to be known as the first lady of Alabama football.

Today, Saban continues to stay close to the sport as an analyst on ESPN’s “College GameDay,” offering insights alongside Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Rece Davis and Pat McAfee, proving that whether on the field, in business or in the studio, he still knows how to win.
“College GameDay” will help kick off coverage of the College Football Playoff at 6 p.m. ET Friday in Norman, Oklahoma, before the first-round game between the No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners and No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide.
