NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) – A local career and tech center received high praise from the state.
The Auto Mechanics program at the New Albany School of Career & Technical Education ranked first in the state in the Automotive Service Excellence Manual Drive Train and Axles.
Students enrolled in the program can earn up to 10 certifications through the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence.
“We are always just constantly trying to improve the program,” said Jonathan Garrison, the Automotive Instructor at New Albany School of Career & Technical Education. “Getting better because our goal is to get these students ready for the workforce and go out in the automotive industry and earn a great career in that field.”
The organization aims to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals.
