KALAMAZOO, MI — A new education building for students in Kalamazoo County will open soon.
The Kalamazoo Regional Education Service Agency will hold a grand opening for the new Career Connect Campus at 3500 Vanrick Drive on May 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The campus provides space for Kalamazoo County students to take courses in various career pathways. Inside the building, there are 22 specialized instructional labs and 17 studios, a KRESA press release said.
“This milestone reflects our community’s commitment to education and workforce development and it will benefit students, families and local businesses for years to come,” said Eric Stewart, KRESA assistant superintendent for career and talent development.

Students can choose from 21 courses focused on “high earning” and “high demand” career fields like health care technology, information technology and skilled trades, the release said.
Students will take classes at the Career Connect Campus during their regular school day if they choose to enroll in a course. The career center will operate on a semester schedule in alignment with most of the county’s high schools.
Construction of the building cost $100 million and was funded through a countywide millage approved in 2019 and an anonymous grant.
