The Pioneer Unit of the Herb Society of America will be meeting Thursday, Jan. 8 to hear Stephen Brueggerhoff speak on Restoring Diversity to Soil with Native Plants. Round Top-Carmine ISD The second semester begins Wednesday, Jan. 7. Another holiday is coming up in a few weeks on Monday, Jan. 19 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first, second, and third Monday of the month. Round Top Family Library The 2026 Chili Cook-Off is coming up Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. There are five categories in which chilis will be judged on: RTFL’s Traditional Chili Division, Open Division, People’s Choice Aware, Best in Showmanship, and RTC Junior vs. Senior Class Chili. Antiques & Design Show The annual winter show will be Thursday, Jan. 22-Sunday, Jan. 25. Several seasonal venues will be open for the long weekend in addition to year-round shops, restaurants and bars.
St. Paul Lutheran Church St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby services are at 8 a.m. Fellowship, Coffee, and Sunday School follow at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday at 2 p.m. Quilting is held the third Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
St. Martin’s Catholic Church St. Martin holds monthly Mass the first Tuesday of each month at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar.
