MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Thousands of Memphis-Shelby County Schools students have more tools to better prepare for their future, following Saturday’s Classic College and Career Fair.
Five thousand MSCS students registered for the event, where they were able to learn about colleges, universities, trade schools, and other work opportunities after college.
Brian Harris is the director of the Office of Youth Services for the City of Memphis.
He’s been leading the efforts to serve Memphis students for several years.
He says this event is all about pouring back into youth and showing them that their city leaders care about their future.
Mayor Young also stopped by the College and Career Fair.
He spoke on the challenges the city’s faced, but said, Memphis is resilient.
