Mid-State and Marshfield Job Center now offer free career and college services downtown, including résumé help and advising.
MARSHFIELD − Mid-State Technical College and the Marshfield Job Center have partnered to offer expanded career and college services in downtown Marshfield.
The Marshfield Job Center, previously located on South Cedar Avenue, will now operate at Mid-State on Central from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday through Thursday, according to a news release.
Community members can access personalized career services, including résumé and cover letter development, interview preparation, job search assistance and connections to local employment opportunities. Job training resources and workshops will also be available.
Mid-State staff will provide college-related services such as program exploration and advising, application assistance, financial aid guidance and help with enrollment steps.
Mid-State and the Marshfield Job Center will host an outdoor community job fair at Mid-State on Central on Sept. 17. The event will connect job seekers with local employers in need of trained professionals. Grant funding may be available to eligible individuals to help cover short-term training programs at Mid-State Technical College.
“This partnership is all about meeting people where they are and providing easy access to the resources they need to move forward − whether that’s landing a new job or starting a college program,” Jackie Esselman, dean of recruitment and admissions at Mid-State Technical College, said in the release.
