Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford entered the 2025 NFL season facing plenty of questions. After being allowed to speak to other teams about a potential trade in the offseason, Stafford was unable to take part in the early stages of training camp due to a back injury. He eventually returned, but Stafford’s age and effectiveness cast some doubt on what otherwise appeared to be an NFC contender.
But the 37-year-old was magnificent Sunday in London, throwing five touchdown passes to lead the Rams to a 35-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7. It’s Stafford’s first five-touchdown game with Los Angeles.

It was arguably the Rams’ most impressive win of the 2025 season. Jacksonville came into the game 4-2 driven primarily by its defense, which ranked seventh in points allowed. That defense didn’t prove to be an issue for Stafford, who completed 21 of 33 passes for 182 yards and the five scores, turning in an excellent performance without top wideout Puka Nacua, who missed the game due to an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, the Rams’ defense was again up for the challenge against the Jaguars. Jared Verse set the tempo immediately, sacking Trevor Lawrence on the game’s first play from scrimmage. The Rams consistently put pressure on Lawrence, forcing some rushed and inaccurate passes. Los Angeles finished with seven sacks.

For a large portion of the game, the Rams found a way to limit Jaguars’ two-way star Travis Hunter. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft entered the contest without an offensive touchdown this season.
Prior to the game, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen teased a larger offensive role for the rookie. That proved to be true early on, as Hunter didn’t play a single defensive snap in the first half. After a slow start, Hunter eventually found his footing in the second half, scoring his first NFL touchdown in the fourth quarter.
The majority of his production, however, came in garbage time. His touchdown made it 28-7 with under 10 minutes to play. Still, it was an encouraging performance, especially after the Jaguars’ pledge to feature Hunter more. He finished with eight catches for 101 yards and a score in the loss.

Hunter’s production was basically the only thing the Jaguars’ offense got right in Week 7. Lawrence struggled to hit his receivers for most of the game and second-year wideout Brian Thomas Jr. once again suffered drops before leaving late with an injury. The Jaguars are on a much-needed bye in Week 8, giving the team time to reset offensively.
The Rams are also on a bye in Week 8, but the team has significantly less to work on. Following yet another strong performance across the board thanks to Stafford and a suffocating defense, the Rams again look like a Super Bowl contender.

The Jaguars may have managed a fourth-quarter touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to overcome an uber-efficient outing from QB Matthew Stafford and a dominant showing from the Rams’ defensive line, who walloped Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence with seven sacks for a loss of 32 yards.
The Jaguars had a turnover on downs on their final possession of the game, and the Rams opt to kneel it out with QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

Brian Thomas Jr.’s woes continue, as he exits the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent right shoulder/arm injury. It’s safe to say that his day is likely over, as the Rams lead the Jaguars 35-7 with just over three minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

I hope you’re not facing Matthew Stafford and/or Davante Adams in fantasy this week.
The pair connected for their third touchdown of the game in what’s been an absolute beatdown against the Jaguars, extending the Rams’ lead to 35-7 with 4:58 left in the fourth quarter.
Stafford has now gone 21-of-33 for 182 passing yards and five touchdowns. He’s taken no sacks on the day — an efficient outing.
Adams, meanwhile, has had three of his five receptions go for touchdowns, with all three of them coming along the goal line.

The Jaguars hoped to keep the momentum after WR/CB Travis Hunter scored his first career touchdown, attempting an onside kick which was very nearly recovered.
Ultimately, the Rams come up with the ball, however, and take over at Jacksonville’s 45-yard line.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are finally on the board as Trevor Lawrence connects with Travis Hunter for a 34-yard score.
The Heisman Trophy award winner was averaging just 32.8 receiving yards per game through the first six games of the season, but head coach Liam Coen noted ahead of Week 7 that the team hoped to get him going.
With a successful extra point from kicker Cam Little, the Jaguars cut the Rams’ lead to 21 points with just over nine minutes left in the fourth quarter. Shutout avoided.

After four consecutive punts to start out the second half, the Los Angeles Rams get gutsy, keeping the offense on the field on fourth-and-5.
The Jaguars jump and are called for a neutral zone infraction to make it fourth-and-1, and Sean McVay gets wild! No QB sneak here; Stafford goes deep for rookie tight end Terrance Ferguson, who reels in a 31-yard receiving touchdown.
That’s the second catch of Ferguson’s career, who was selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Oregon.
Stafford has gone 20-of-32 for 181 passing yards, 4 TD and 0 INT with 11:11 to go in the fourth quarter. The Rams lead 28-0.

The Jaguars may currently have more offensive yards than the Rams, outpacing them in time of possession as well, but it still hasn’t been enough to put points on the board.
With just 27 seconds left in the third quarter, the Jaguars have yet to score a single point.
A summary of their drives so far:

With the Jacksonville Jaguars deep in their own territory, Trevor Lawrence made the biggest play of the day. Lawrence found Dyami Brown deep for a 39-yard gain.
Brown made the catch while sliding on the slick field.
It was the best play of the day for Jacksonville, which has been held scoreless through the first two and a half quarters so far.
Brown was injured on the catch and was seen in the blue medical tent after the play.

With the Los Angeles Rams facing a third and short, the team tried for a big play. Matthew Stafford attempted to hit Davante Adams on a deep pass that might have gone for six points.
The pass looked to be on target, too, until Jaguars two-way player Travis Hunter knocked it away at the last moment.
It was a huge pay for Hunter, who has primarily been used on offense during the contest. Coming into the third quarter, Hunter had not played a single snap on defense.
He made his impact known immediately, breaking up that long pass to Adams.

The Jacksonville Jaguars need to get something going on offense if they want to stay in this game. But with the team driving down the field, the Jags failed to convert on yet another fourth-down play.
With the team at the Rams’ 30-yard line, Jacksonville failed to pick up the first down from two yards away. The team had a chance to convert twice. On third down, quarterback Trevor Lawrence airmailed a throw to Johnny Mundt.
On fourth down, Lawrence and Dyami Brown apparently weren’t on the same page. Lawrence tried to hit Brown with a pass early, but the receiver didn’t appear to be looking for the ball. The pass fell incomplete, turning the ball back to the Rams.

It took a few tries, but Travis Hunter has a catch in Week 7. Hunter made his presence known early in the third quarter, taking a catch for a first down on the Jaguars’ first drive of the half.
Hunter immediately added another catch, giving him two on the day. He started the contest with no catches on his first three targets. Coming out of halftime, the Jaguars made it a priority to get the rookie involved.
Hunter will need to do a lot more to get the Jaguars back in the game. The team trails 21-0 at the beginning of the third quarter.

Jacksonville Jaguars’ two-way star Travis Hunter hasn’t played his usual role in Week 7. Hunter, who can play receiver and cornerback, has been used solely as a wideout against the Los Angeles Rams.
It hasn’t resulted in a ton of production in the first half. Hunter has been targeted three times, but has yet to haul in a catch. He does have an end around, but did not pick up any yards on the play.
The Jaguars have altered Hunter’s snaps between both positions in previous weeks. In Week 7, however, the team likes what Hunter brings to the table as a receiver. While it hasn’t worked out yet, the Jaguars still have an entire half to get the offense on track.

The Los Angeles Rams got out to a tremendous start in Week 7. Matthew Stafford tossed three touchdowns in the first half to put his team up 21-0 heading into halftime.
When the third quarter starts, he’ll have a chance to add more. Stafford and the Rams receive the ball to start the half. With another score, Los Angeles could put the game out of reach.
It will be on the Jaguars to figure out a way to stop the Rams’ excellent offense.

The Jaguars were successfully driving down the field just ahead of halftime, and rookie head coach Liam Coen found himself forced to make a big decision on fourth-and-7 at the Rams’ 11-yard line.
They opt to forgo the field goal attempt, down 21 points, and go for it on fourth down, but Trevor Lawrence is unable to find a target and opts to scramble, gaining just four yards. He’s short of the first down, and the Rams take possession after a turnover on downs.
The Rams executed two run plays with RB Kyren Williams, where he gained 14 total yards, but eventually opted to kneel it out with Matthew Stafford to take it into halftime.

It’s been a brutal start to the 2025 season for the pairing of Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr., but the two did connect for a 24-yard gain on the Jags’ fifth offensive possession.
Heading into Week 7, Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. were one of the least efficient pairings in the league, with a 50% completion rate between the two. That was the third-lowest completion percentage between any quarterback-receiver duo in the league entering the week (min. 35 targets), only behind Cam Ward and Calvin Ridley (45.7%) and, incredibly, Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams (47.3%), per NFL Research.

Matthew Stafford & Co. continue to pile on. After Cam Little’s missed 50-yard field goal, the Rams were gifted some more surprises.
RB Kyren Williams runs for a 10-yard gain to open the possession, followed by a costly 17-yard pass interference call against Jacksonville that set Stafford up for back-to-back 16-yard completions — one to WR Davante Adams and another to Colby Parkinson.
Stafford caps the drive with another target to Adams in the end zone, and the pair connect for their second touchdown of the day.
Adams has scored in four of seven games with the Rams so far in his debut season with the Rams.
His last game with multiple receiving touchdowns? Week 15 of the 2024 season … against the Jacksonville Jaguars. he finished that day with a 9-198-2 line.

Jacksonville finally had an opportunity to get some points on the board after punting on its first three possessions, gaining 32 yards on the team’s fourth offensive drive before attempting a field goal with rookie Cam Little. He misses the 50-yarder, and the Jaguars remain scoreless over their first four offensive drives.
It was a drive of missed opportunities for Jacksonville after committing an illegal block in the back for a 10-yard penalty returning the Rams’ punt to open up the drive, with yet another drop from Brian Thomas Jr. over the middle before Little’s missed field goal.

It’s the first explosive passing play of the day for Jacksonville, as Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence finds veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick downfield for a 17-yard gain — his first completion for a 10-plus yard gain of the game.
The Jaguars punted on their first three offensive possessions.

The Jaguars didn’t do much on their first two possessions of the game, but they’ve found some rhythm on the third, gaining their first first down of the game just ahead of the end of the first quarter.
