A New York-based French-language center that also promotes worldwide francophone cultures is honoring a Palm Beach restaurateur.
L’Alliance New York has tapped France native Philippe Delgrange — whose Le Bilboquet restaurant locations include the 2020-opened Worth Avenue hot spot — for one of its Art de Vivre awards.
The award will be presented to Delgrange on June 2 in New York.
With past winners ranging from French hairstylist and entrepreneur Frederic Fekkai to book publishers Martine and Prosper Assouline, the Art de Vivre Award recognizes leaders from the gastronomic, fashion and beauty industries, among others, for outstanding contributions to the promotion of “the French art of living.”
Part of the June 2 award ceremony and festivities will take place at L’Alliance New York’s Manhattan headquarters. After cocktails, the event will continue at Le Bilboquet’s New York restaurant for dinner and an auction.
Delgrange, who has played a role in New York’s dining scene for 40 years, has been a cornerstone in the city’s social, artistic and culinary scene, L’Alliance New York president Tatyana Franck said in a prepared statement.
“He has always been a friend to L’Alliance New York, just as he has been a friend to anyone lucky enough to eat at his restaurants.”
Delgrange’s Le Bilboquet Group includes three restaurants and a café in New York, plus locations in Palm Beach, Sag Harbor, Denver, Dallas and Atlanta.
Delgrange opened his first Le Bilboquet in Manhattan in 1986.
As a center for French language and culture, L’Alliance New York provides members and students with French language classes and programming that celebrates the diversity of francophone cultures and creativity around the world.
