DEWITT, N.Y. — The Jamesville-Dewitt Central School District has announced the resignation of Board of Education president Joe Gross.
The district made the announcement a day after their budget passed and other member of the school board were elected. Mr. Gross’ departure will not have an impact on the votes cast for school board members, the district announced.
“We thank Mr. Gross for his service to the district. During his tenure, he has been a steadfast leader, guiding the board through several major decisions, including the development of a capital project, school safety upgrades, and the hiring of the district’s incoming superintendent for the 2025-26 school year. We appreciate his contributions to our students and school community,” said Superintendent Peter Smith.
The board is expected to review options for filling the vacant seat at its next regular meeting on Monday, June 2.
