Hendrix College and Arkansas Colleges of Health Education Announce Affiliation Agreement to Expand Healthcare Education Pathways

November 12, 2025 — Hendrix
College has entered into an affiliation agreement with the Arkansas Colleges of
Health Education (ACHE) to expand opportunities for students interested in
careers in healthcare. The partnership creates new routes for Hendrix students
to continue their education in medical and allied health fields.

As part of the agreement, eligible Hendrix
students will have access to ACHE’s Early Assurance and Guaranteed Interview
programs for admission into the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine
(ARCOM), the Master of Science in Biomedicine (MSB) program, and ACHE’s
Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) programs.

Depending on the program, Hendrix students
who meet academic and professional requirements and are recommended by the
College may secure a guaranteed interview or early placement consideration as
early as their junior year, or within two years after graduation.

“This agreement reflects Hendrix’s ongoing
commitment to connecting a liberal arts education with meaningful professional
opportunities,” said Hendrix College Provost Teresa Garrett. “By working with
ACHE, we are ensuring that our students who aspire to careers in healthcare
have clear, supportive pathways to take the next step in their education. It’s
another way Hendrix prepares students not only for success in graduate
programs, but also for leadership and service in their chosen fields.”

Hendrix students have historically been
very successful in pursuing admission to medical school and other
healthcare-related graduate programs. The new agreement further strengthens
that record of success.

“For students who want to serve as
physicians and healthcare professionals in Arkansas, these programs provide an
especially valuable opportunity,” said Dr. Peter Kett, Charles Prentiss Hough associate
professor of chemistry. “It’s exciting to know that Hendrix graduates will play
an important role in strengthening healthcare in our state. Hendrix students
have consistently excelled in gaining admission to medical school, and this new
affiliation gives them an additional route to achieve that goal.”

ACHE leaders emphasized the importance of
partnerships in building the healthcare workforce in Arkansas.

“This partnership reflects our shared
commitment to supporting students who want to serve their communities through
healthcare,” said Christopher Smith, Ed.D., ACHE assistant provost. “By working
with institutions like Hendrix College, we are not only opening doors for
students but also helping build a stronger healthcare workforce for Arkansas
and beyond.”

By joining forces, Hendrix and ACHE are
broadening educational options for students while also addressing the state’s
growing need for healthcare professionals who are well-prepared to serve
Arkansas communities.
