It’s time again for Haymarket Gainesville Lifestyle Magazine’s Annual “Best Of” contest, now in its 15th year.
Local businesses are the heart and the lifeline of community. Retail stores, restaurants, entertainment and service providers help make western Prince William County a great place to live.
As such, Haymarket Gainesville Lifestyle’s Magazine’s annual competition strives to highlight “the best of” those local businesses, organizations and people as nominated and voted upon by our readers.
Voting is now open and will remain so through June 10. Nominations will be accepted through May 25. Vote online via this link or follow Haymarket Gainesville Lifestyle Magazine on Facebook where the contest is pinned.
Winners will be featured in the lifestyle magazine’s August issue that — like all our issues — is delivered to 12,000 homes and businesses in Gainesville and Haymarket. Additionally, winners receive a certificate and digital logo to display.
Last year we received over 25,000 votes from 3,011 voters in 123 specific categories, and this year we hope to increase our reach.
Overarching categories include healthcare, finance, dining and entertainment, and subcategories include cafés, yoga studios, salons, summer camps, doctors and fitness clubs, just to name a few.
Just being nominated is superb publicity since nominees are seen by all voters. New nominees are accepted on the webpage via a write in vote. (Nominations may take up to 72 hours or longer on weekends to be visible on the ballot.)
Nominees can also advertise their business in the contestant list with logo to highlight them. Those interested should contact jim@whglifestyle.com or cindy@whglifestyle.com for more information.
Participants are encouraged vote in as many categories as they wish, repeatedly, although voting is limited to once per day per category. Nominees can increase their visibility by reaching out to their clients, coworkers, friends online.
Some of our first-time winners, or those how haven’t won in five years or more, will be chosen to receive a short article in our August issue and one will be chosen to grace the cover. Winners can also purchase an expanded mention in the magazine that includes address, phone number and webpage information.
Readers can read our 2024 “Best Of Winners” here, or see how they were featured the magazine here.
Rules of the Game
All businesses/individuals on the ballot must be located in or provide services in western Prince William County. Businesses that provide services through a brick-and-mortar location, for example, a restaurant or physician office, must be physically located in Western Prince William County. Businesses outside the area that provide services within the county (for example, an HVAC or lawn care company) are also eligible.
Voters should read the nominations carefully so not to write in those already listed.
