Explore the ARTS 701 Main St., in Hamilton welcomes Pamela Beer to the gallery. Pamela Beer is a contemporary abstract artist whose work explores the interplay of memory, place and emotion. Originally beginning her artistic journey as a means of relaxation over 35 years ago, she transitioned from watercolors to acrylics before ultimately discovering oil and cold wax — a medium that unlocked a new depth in her creative process. After leaving a corporate career in 2013, she dedicated herself fully to art, developing a distinctive approach that balances expressive spontaneity with thoughtful refinement.

Working on custom birchwood panels, Pamela uses silicone scrapers, brayers and various mark-making tools to layer and manipulate oil and cold wax. Her paintings reflect a conversation between texture, transparency and color, revealing glimpses of landscapes both real and imagined. With each piece, she invites viewers to explore the connection between chaos and tranquility, evoking a sense of place that resonates beyond the surface.
Enjoy her show “Field Notes” where the echo of a horse, the silhouette of a chapel, the gesture of a wild bloom or the feeling of a place become vessels of belonging. These original works in oil and cold wax invite the viewer to find their own story within layered textures, earthy palettes, and quiet marks that speak of home, horizon, and hope.
