H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection support groups start back up in August, as the organization serving families who have children with special needs at no charge also looks forward to a big resource fair in September.
Upcoming events include:
• The August Daytime Parent Support Group, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Willow Springs Estates clubhouse, 14556 E. Tehachapi Blvd. The topic is the IEP process and your rights.
• The August Evening Parent Support Group, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at 103 E. D St., inside the Pregnancy Life Center. Enter the side building on Green Street. The topic is the IEP process and your rights.
• A Special Needs Resource Fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 600 Anita Drive in Tehachapi. The free event is open to all, with vendors for local services and workshops for parents.
