GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks School Board has called a special meeting for Monday evening to contemplate the discharge of Lake Agassiz Elementary teacher Ana Marie Fernandez and to pursue possible board action.
At the meeting, there will be an executive session to discuss the possible suspension of Fernandez while discharge for cause is pursued. The board may then suspend Fernandez in the interim.
The meeting will be held Monday Dec. 15, at the Mark Sanford Education Center at 4:15 p.m.
Grand Forks Public Schools declined to comment prior to the meeting on the reason for the possible discharge of Fernandez.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
