ROCKY MOUNT — The Local Government Career Expo, a networking event for job-seekers and employers, will return to the area on Saturday.
The year’s event, staged in partnership between local governments and the Central Pines Regional Council, will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Rocky Mount Event Center, 285 NE Main St.
A second symposium will be held in Chapel Hill at the UNC Friday Center.
During the expo, job-seekers in the fields of construction, business administration, environmental science, public health, public safety, technology and finance will have the opportunity to meet subject matter experts and human resource professionals who will be able to help with their transition to a career in local government.
“Job-seekers will hear from experts on how to advance their career and find new careers that align with their passion,” a news release explains. “At a time when job market volatility is top of mind, local governments stand out as a stable, mission-driven career path. With reliable benefits, competitive pay and opportunities to make a real impact in communities across North Carolina, working in local government offers more than just a job – it offers purpose.”
Attendees who register in advance can expect participating employers to contact them about career opportunities. The event is open to all job-seekers. Registration information is available at logocareerexpo.com.
